The ongoing affects of the global crisis, the disruptive influence of new technology, the emergence of new business models and the search for new energy solutions, are all discussed here. System Crisis. Many of the global systems we currently have are on the verge of breaking since they have evolved out of a roughly put together national system, and have not been designed to properly manage the speed and volume of today’s society. There is a need for a transition from national systems to global systems. Major failures will occur in most systems over the coming

Song of the Day: Yesterday - One by U2

This was supposed to be the song of yesterday but I couldn't figure out how to buy a song on my phone from the train...and once in....too much to do. The funny thing is I read about this song in a book, Little Bee, by Chris Cleeve and I remembered having it and thinking this is an uplifting song of the oneness of humankind, so then I get to work buy it and somewhere around the 3rd listen I am like...what is this guy saying?!  Turns out I think Bono is telling his wife he had an affair and she should get over it...better yet he blames some of it on her...."Did I ask too much? more than a lot. You gave me nothing and that's all I got." Nice.  ....kids like the rock bombast though...Lila this morning..."Can we play more music Mama? I like that one." What do you think he's saying? o -e    Download now or listen on posterous 03 One.m4a (9766 KB) Posted via email from Elena's posterous

Sometimes all you got is your shoes

Watching a boy on the L gingerly take a seat breaking all protocol by choosing an occupied seat when a perfectly good empty one is right in front of him. I can see in his eyes he is just glad he didn't throw up, last night's party still cruising in his veins. He catches me watching him and shrinks a little at being found out. He stares at his shoes fancy new A1's and perks up. He looks up spies the empty seat in front of him and lurched forward another small success.
