Things We Can Do

Hell is the place where nothing connects and this is just exactly how we are so easily manipulated. We all want so desperately to be connected and yet there is seemingly so much in the way. Time for one thing, none of us has enough time...we work so hard and for so long. Our families are so far away that our lives don't intersect anymore and the conversations that would be necessary to bring everyone up to speed would take more time and require so much personal exposure it's difficult to make the choice to risk it.... And after a entire day of half faking it with your co-workers all anyone wants to do when they get home is close the door and let it all go. In fact, you often find that it's quite a relief to be actually alone and much less draining than the quasi- aloneness we through every day in our public inte...

Well here I am again. It turns out that once you start a gmail account you can't merge an old account with the new...who knew Ah so Howard Zinn, seems he's a new cult fav - everyones heard of him it seems but me. I am going to re post the first two post here to create a through line ..hope it helps... Okay, so I wasn't so clear on what kind of action I hope to take place... I am really hoping all my friends who read this and pass this along can help link up a small community of people who are interested in really doing something about creating more sustainable, people- friendly, simple kind ways to improve our schools - public education in this country is in a terrible state of dis-repair, the environment, anyone for worm-power?!! And basically letting the government - local, state and national representatives know that we are really serious about changing the course of American policy, this running roughshod over any one who gets in our money's way has got to stop or at least be slowed down a lot. This is a place to document, dictate and rant about the socio- economic scene in your part of the world as you see it and to make suggestions however big or small on how to change things. peacefully, and respectively of course -elena

First let me say, that I am too impatient and too busy to get this going in any easy way. I must have started this blog 8 times today only to forget my user name or password or if I even started the blog and I still don't have the template I wanted, but alas, I am here at last. Second the impetus for starting this blog was action. I really want to do something, say something about us everyday regular people motivating ourselves into action. If "our "country - these United States, which I do love, by the way, started out with genocide and domination and 600 years later in the name of progress we find ourselves in the exact same place, then we must all begin to look at the price of progress and ask ourselves if there isn't a better way. I don't know, I'm open to suggestions. I don't even know what steps to take but let's start the dialogue once again, here and now, amongst friends. - elena
